That wasn't a blatant Kesler dive.... he got elbowed in the head, of course he's going down.

He dives all the time, but that wasn't one of them last night. For a dive last night, look at the Islanders forward late in the game.

Yeah, I just watched the highlights, looks like it was a bit of a poopshow. Missed the Kesler dive/non-dive, but it's not really a surprise he exaggerated. Nabokov looked baaaaaaad

not a dive...sure. hit by a guy who weighs about 160lbs, went down like a sack of bricks, stayed down for a bit until the call was made, then got up to get into it with our defenseman while never even stepping off the ice. 8.6

I live in Vancouver, I'm well aware of what Kesler's game is, it's fantastic if you remove the theatrical part of it.

Have you ever been hit in the head by a shoulder while playing hockey? I know Kesler has a reputation for diving, but calling him out because of that play is narrow minded. Look at it for what it was, a check to the head.

I have plenty, but I wear a full cage. Never stayed face down on the ice for an extended period of time...

It wasn't that long.

He took a decent shot to the head.

Teddy Roosevelt once got shot while making a speech...and still finished his speech. Not every hit that puts a man down but finds him bouncing back is simulation.

If you really believe that was a Kesler dive you should give it a 10 and applaud his thespian skills for having improved to such great heights.

I haven't seen it, it's not in the highlight pack. It seems there are pretty different opinions on the hit, both here and at HF. Whatever, doesn't surprise me if it was embellishment, also wouldn't surprise me if an NHL player did a stupid thing and stuck his elbow out and hit a guy in the head.

Yeah, guilty I just love my smile with 100% all my own teeth, and even though we play non contact, the sticks still get up, as do the elbows.

EDIT - plus I'm only 6', unlike yourself who likely towers over all the other players. They would have to climb on a stepladder to hit you with an elbow.

I wouldn't call anything an embellishment when a person is hit that hard in the head.

Could he have got up sooner? Probably.

But why should he? He's just been hit in the head during a rush up ice and is about to go on a PP—take your time and collect yourself.

Three of my front teeth are not my own

I definitely understand what you're talking about. I'd continue to wear it if I were you! Made three trips to the dentist last time I was home because one of them had to be replaced and I'm still not done. They did a sh!t job and I have to get it done over again. Fug...

Hey, just stayed a night up in Parksville, did you know there's a coffee shop there called Lefty's?

Sooo, anyone worried that the Canucks are gonna burn out playing as a 3 line team?
With out a 3rd line, the top 6 are getting riden hard by Torts, and I don't think they can sustain it.

Lefty's is great. Used to be called G Willy's.

It's changed hands a few times, but I've been going there for like 23 years.

sooo 3-5 games then?

Seems to be the new NHL standard for going anywhere near another players head.

In the mall by the Thrifty's, I was walking past the coffee shop and there was a sign on the door that said welcome to Lefty's...

Right now I think Torts is just playing the hand he has been dealt. I don't have any confidence in Sestito or Wiese (or Alberts as a LW) so for now I'm glad Torts is only giving these guys only a couple of minutes a game. Until Gillis is able to acquire some players to take some ice time away from the top 9, it is going to be like this for a while. The Sedin's don't worry me as much. Under AV they had very low minutes for top line players. I think they will be able to handle some more. Kesler with his style of play and injury history worry me a little bit.
